Stayed for two nights at short notice when we wanted a quick break from London. We walked down from the station, but I know the town so it wasn't hard for us to find. The road outside is a wind tunnel so expect to be blown if you're staying here. The B&B misses something. I'm not sure what. The owners were friendly enough. The breakfast was quite nice. The room was clean although a little dusty and cluttered. The shower sounded like it was a jet engine. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the pillows weren't the best either. The whole experience just felt a bit meh. Outside at night is loud. Like you're in a nightclub. Which, I suppose, err, is actually opposite the B&B so no wonder it's loud. Take ear plugs. Or go out partying until 4am. Or get a room at the back. Be prepared for noise. I wouldn't recommend the B&B to a friend. It's worth spending an extra £20-£50 to go somewhere else but if you're desperate like we were then it's not the worst place I've ever stayed!

Where to start? The rooms look nothing like the way they are represented on the website, they smell of damp and are very poorly maintained. The noise from the surrounding bars is phenomenal, going on until at least 3am. The breakfast was below average, complete with a free hair. The owner is at best impolite, at worst ignorant, and seems incapable of handling complaints professionally. We refused to spend our second night in this awful place.

We stayed at the hotel in February this year, we were on the first floor at the front. The room was a king size ensuite. The shower was not easy to use, the switch was on upside down, the wash basin had a crack in it, the windows filthy. Breakfast was ok. Would I recommend the hotel to friends - no, I would not. If we hadn't have to paid the outstanding amount before we had stayed the first night we would have not stayed. It was a shame as we were on our honeymoon which we mentioned when we booked, the owner could have perhaps put flowers in the room as a nice gesture.
