New Steine Hotel - B&B

A really warm welcome when we arrived. Lovely comfortable room, spotlessly clean and well supplied with tea, coffee, milk, toiletries and towels. TV and hairdryer. Quiet room despite being situated near the lively nightlife. Very convenient for the seafront, pier and restaurants. Breakfast available or there are ample coffee shops within a minutes walk, including Herves- highly recommended. 20 minute walk to The Dome and North Laines. Will definitely be back.

Lovely friendly staff and a very good breakfast. Unfortunately, we felt the £220 we paid for bed and breakfast for a “luxury suite” was massively overpriced. The room was very basic and certainly didn’t feel like a luxury suite. A shame, as the friendly service and breakfast were both excellent.

This was our least favorite hotel of our tour. Nothing to the detriment of the super nice host Hervé and the location, because they are both top. The reason for our critical review is 3-fold: parking, mattresses and breakfast. According to our travel agent, you could either park in the street or in a parking garage nearby. We were lucky and could park in the narrow street, right at the front door, but that's 1 chance in 1000. No idea where the car park is located for which you can buy a voucher from the host, but I don't think it's close. Parking in the street is pricey (about 20 pounds for 24 hours), but the fact that your car is right outside the door is also worth something. The mattresses really need replacing, both those of our double bed and that of the single bed. Ours could be compared to a softer brick and our daughter's feathers popped back into their shape 5 seconds after you felt them all pushing into your back. Otherwise the family room was not large, but neat and everything was available. Small but nice bathroom. Breakfast doesn't mean much. The buffet is neither extensive nor actively replenished. You can still order hot dishes from the menu, where we had chosen the French breakfast. We thought we would get something different with this and that was the case in itself. Instead of a croissant, chocolate bun and baguette, we get 3 baking cakes where the fat drained. And the baguette turned out to be a gingerbread. This really needs a little more care. But as said: super nice host and fantastic location!
