Grand Hotel Eastbourne

Excellent visit to The Grand for Afternoon Tea. We had the sweet and the savoury Afternoon tea. Very tasty and well presented. The lady who served us explained everything to us. Would recommend a visit.

Decadent, but with incredibly friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We loved it. Delicious breakfasts, incredible outdoor heated pool and rooms fantastic.

We stayed in a suite overlooking the sea. It was newly decorated, and very fresh and clean. It comprised a large bedroom, a very large sitting room, and a bathroom with a claw footed bath and rainfall shower . It was a very elegant space with light colours, floor to ceiling windows with billowing net curtains. There was a coffee machine, nice Molton Brown toileteries, and all of the accoutrements that you would expect plus a few more. The mattress set in a four poster bed, pillows, and linen were of high quality. It was a bright and airy environment that we found very relaxing. We were only there for one night, and when it was time to leave we stood for a while taking it in. You know it's good when you don't want it to end. We ate in The Mirabelle restaurant and experienced the taster menu. This was an investment, but worth it. We were looked after by Charlotte and sommelier Finn, both of whom were charming, professional and knowledgeable. We threw a couple of challenges in Finn's direction with personal preferences and he adapted well. It was a memorable and unrushed meal. Breakfast was good, it was good to find haddock on the menu for a change. The public rooms are grand and busy. We wondered if it might feel old fashioned, but it manages to tread that line and be timeless instead. This is a hotel that we will return to, and we will keep very happy memories of our brief stay.
