Restaurant rather than B&B. Absolutely useless. Food arrived, completely cold gravy, but despite looking around no one to find to amend this. Puddings also arrived, well two of the three, with the incorrect accompaniment. Only after catching the waitress’s eye was she reminded of the ice cream. Again it didn’t arrive. Only appeared to be two young girls working there, one of which a young blonde girl who’d been particularly ungracious sliding the desserts across the table. Also didn’t want to provide a receipt asking would the bill not suffice. Would not recommend this place to anyone! We would have complained at the time had there been anyone in authority to speak to, but no one at all to bring this up with as the two young girls running the place cannot be expected to deal with this. It’s very unfortunate as the roast itself had been nice but for the cold gravy that had made it difficult to eat. Perhaps management need to step up as they are letting down the kitchen and also leaving things to young staff.

We stayed for a long weekend as attending a friend's birthday celebrations in the village Room was adequate but expensive compared to other hotels. We tried booking since May 2025 but kept being told rooms not released yet. Finally managed to book in February this year after the prices increased. Felt like we were staying in a hostel. Breakfast area not very inviting A guest took all of the pastries one morning and when we asked for more were told that was all that had been available If it wasn't for the fact that the party was in the village we wouldn't have stayed here. Our son had a small 2 bedroom Airbnb on the green which was cheaper than a room at the hotel. Unfortunately we were a party of 9 and no Airbnb for that number available

Drove 45 minutes from Hornsea for Sunday lunch on our wedding anniversary. Recommended by friend. Lady behind bar was behaving abruptly to regular when he was making conversation etc. when served i Asked if we could have Sunday lunch, she asked if booked, I said no (eye rolled). She’s then said ok, so I asked if we could sit outside with our dog as it’s a lovely day to be told No… we don’t allow eating in the beer garden ???? See photo they clearly do ??? She just could not be bothered with our custom. This was crazy to me, not wanting to sit inside we couldn’t eat. No apology or explanation. I suggest the staff member maybe works back of house & not in a public facing roll. She’s clearly unhappy with her job.
