Cleehouse Hotel

Terrible. I’m happy to stay at a hotel that needs a bit of updating, as long as it’s clean and I can actually get a good night sleep. Neither of these were the case at The Clee ‘hotel’. It’s a pub with rooms, and the family room is directly above the pub area and we were there during the pub quiz. The noise level was ridiculous. All we could hear was a man on a speaker and then music until around 9.30 which ended with loads of bottles being emptied into the bin just after we managed to get my son off to sleep (thanks for that). For a couple, I’m sure that would be fine but for a heavily pregnant woman with a three year old and elderly parents, it was unacceptable. The room was very hot and the windows didn’t open enough to let air circulate. We also found a huge spider in our room which would have been noticed if it had been cleaned appropriately. The stairs leading up to our room was filthy, dog hairs and crumbs that could’ve easily been vacuumed away before our stay were just sat there. The bathroom was rank - black mould, a soap dish that looked infectious, and stained towels. We did not go to breakfast as we weren’t convinced it would be clean, you also have to eat your breakfast in your bedroom. We went to Wetherspoons which is only 5 minutes away. The people there seemed friendly, and we liked the cat. The hotel is also very close to the beach and things like that. But for the price we paid we expected a good night sleep and a clean room. We booked through booking . com where the reviews are mainly positive, but I don’t know how that’s possible unless they’ve been written by the people who own the place and their friends. It’s a shame as it’s made us questioned reviews left for other small establishments, which is completely unfair on those who are honest. Spend your hard earned cash elsewhere.

Had a lovely time again,we have stopped numerous times now.Craig and Brandon were very nice and helpful .The breakfast was lovely and the bed we slept in was as comfortable as been at home.We will be back again.Thanks.

Old, out dated, MUCH need of refurbishment. Although i booked clee hotel, i was sent 2 doors down to a different property, still very much old, old and dull furniture is an understatemnt, i would never go back. One of worse places ive stayed Staff i communicated were great, however this did not change my thoughts on the place, id say clee hotel isnt really a hotel either
