Beautiful hotel and stunning grounds .lovely big room and staff could not be more helpful . Let down drastically with food. Very restricted 3 choice menu at dinner due to coach trip in and short staffed. Young lad Jack is a credit to the hotel as is reception girls who went above and beyond to help us find a restaurant near and even booked it for us. Breakfast was inedible. Hot food that was there was stone cold. Most ramekins at buffet breakfast were empty .no bread for toast. Eggs half cooked .was awful .ended up with nothing for 4 of us for 2 days. Shame as such a nice hotel .

This stay was bought as a gift for my husband and myself as part of a Wowcher deal. The grounds of the Hotel are lovely. The staff were polite and friendly. The room was absolutely fine- great view of the garden and beyond. Plenty of hot water and was clean. We used the spa facilities and I must say there was no issue. We went at a time when it was fairly quiet. The only downside was perhaps the food. This was part of the deal and in my mind, the fairly limited menu is catering towards this to stay within a budget and this was reflected with the food on offer however you get what you pay for so to speak so I can’t complain too much. There was a good buffet selection for breakfast cannot compare to made to order - again catering for ‘the masses’. I would return again as all in all it was a pleasant restful stay.

A very average hotel, certainly doesn’t live up to the 4 star rating . We stayed for 4 nights as part of a coach tour. Our room had not been cleaned properly, there were marks on the bathroom floor which were either tea or coffee spills. The bathroom mirror was dusty, there were cobwebs on the bedroom ceiling and the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed thoroughly. Breakfast was self service and on the whole was good apart from the last morning when no hot food appeared until after 7am despite breakfast starting at 6.30am. The member of staff was asked when the hot food would be ready and they just replied that they didn’t know, no effort was made to check with the kitchen. Evening meal service was chaotic. Despite us having pre ordered , there were long delays in bringing the food out. Several people had to send food back as it hadn’t been cooked thoroughly. Our courier did address the issues with the hotel at the time but these are basic things that a decent hotel should be getting right. They also only offer a bedroom clean every 3 days , supposedly to be eco friendly but I suspect it is more to cut costs. This is fine in principle but please ensure sufficient supplies of tea, coffee, biscuits and toilet paper are in the room to cover the 3 days.
