I feel bad writing such a negative review as the staff were very pleasant, however this is a truly awful hotel for the price despite a beautiful location. Everything is very run down, peeling wallpaper, chipped tiles and furniture and decor from the 1960’s. We paid £160 for a room when the true price should be about £80 for this level of accommodation. The quaint looking yellow building shown in the pictures is closed and much of the hotel buildings are derelict. Internet poor, no TV in room or hotel lounge. Food is very poor for the price ( never had vegetables with such a strange texture!) but it’s a 40 minute drive to the nearest restaurant so not much choice! Avoid!

A shabby rundown hotel with awful food. The WiFi did not work, there was no decent beer, the wine list consisted of 2 whites and 2 reds of poor quality. Very disappointing breakfast. The worst hotel on NC500 but more expensive than most.

Room was extremely tired, dated and shabby (to put it mildly) certainly not worth the £230 we paid. We are in the middle of our trip doing NC500 and have stayed in some great hotels and guesthouses along the way, at a fraction of the cost of this one, certainly a case of supply and demand as we could not get in anywhere else near, absolutely disgraceful to charge this amount. The staff were great however and we met and chatted to some of the guests. The location is superb, such a shame that there has been little or no investment in what could be a great place to say. Extremely disappointed .
