Balbirnie House Hotel

We had our wedding at Balbirnie House and could not recommend this enough. The staff, Leah and David specially on the day did such an amazing job making sure everything went smoothly. We arrived at the venue 2 days before the wedding and had a lovely stay with the family. The rooms are all georgous and our guests complimented how large the rooms were. The hotel has a lot of space and the grounds are beautiful. We had the drinks reception in the garden and set up some outdoor games there. The location is close to the train station and a lot of our guests used the train from Edinburgh to get to the venue. Could not say enough amazing things about Balbirnie and it will always have a special place for us!

An absolutely unforgettable wedding experience We cannot thank everyone at Balbirnie enough for making our wedding experience so incredibly special. From the moment we arrived, every detail was thoughtful, the food was exceptional, and the service was impeccable. The BBQ the night before, breakfast in the Pearl Suite and the wedding meal were all fantastic. All of our guests passed comment on how beautiful the rooms were: comfy beds, beautiful decor, 5 star service. Our wedding day was everything we could have dreamed of. The beautiful grounds, incredible food and attentive team meant we could completely relax and enjoy every moment. We genuinely felt looked after from start to finish, and our guests have also commented on how wonderful the venue and staff were. A special thank you to Katy for checking in with us before we left, Robyn for being so fantastic throughout the day, and Kenneth, our wonderful Master of Ceremonies, whose calm and reassuring presence helped settle our nerves and made the day even more memorable. Balbirnie gave us the most incredible memories, and we are so grateful to the whole team for making us feel so special. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding experience and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

Where do we even begin? From the moment we first sat down with the team at Balbirnie House over a year before our wedding, we knew we'd found somewhere special. Looking back now, after celebrating our wedding on 29th August 2026 and checking out the following morning as husband and wife, we can honestly say it was the most magical and unforgettable experience of our lives. Balbirnie House is breathtakingly beautiful, but the real magic lies within the people who make it what it is. Every single member of staff made us feel like we were the only wedding that mattered. Their attention to detail was incredible. They knew every guest, every role, every little detail of the day. From the father of the bride to the ushers, everyone was made to feel important, welcomed, and valued. Katie, our wedding planner, was simply amazing. For over a year she guided us through every step of the journey with patience, enthusiasm, and genuine care. No question was too silly, no request was too much trouble, and no detail was overlooked. She didn't just plan our wedding, she invested in it. She cared about our day almost as much as we did, and that meant the world to us. And then there's Lewis. Honestly, there aren't enough words to thank him for everything he did for us. Throughout the entire day, he was everywhere and nowhere all at once, quietly making sure everything was perfect whilst allowing us to simply enjoy every second. Every time we turned around, he was there with a smile, solving problems before they even existed, taking photos, checking in on us, keeping the day flowing effortlessly, and joining in with the fun along the way. When the emotions and nerves kicked in, he somehow knew exactly what was needed. He made us feel calm, supported, and completely looked after from start to finish. The greatest gift the Balbirnie team gave us was the ability to be fully present. We never once worried about timings, logistics, suppliers, guests, or what came next. We simply got to enjoy being bride and groom while they took care of absolutely everything. The food was outstanding, the service was flawless, and our guests still haven't stopped talking about how incredible the venue and staff were. So many people told us it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended, and we know that's because of the people behind the scenes who worked so hard to make it happen. Our rooms were spectacular, the bridal suite was elegant, clean and cosy - so was the pearl suite for the night before. The grounds are stunning as well, there were loads of places that we were able to capture amazing pictures. The hardest thing about our wedding day is that it's over. If we could wake up tomorrow and relive it all again, we would in a heartbeat. We wouldn't change a single thing. Balbirnie House didn't just host our wedding. It gave us memories we'll treasure for the rest of our lives. It gave us the most perfect start to our marriage, and for that we will be forever grateful. Overall, you get what you pay for at the Balbirnie and that is 5 star + service and accommodation. There are moments in life that stay with you forever, and thanks to the incredible team at Balbirnie House, our wedding day will be one of them.
