Do not book its a joke! I booked this direct with Colin the owner-he was a really chatty laughy bloke and i honestly warmed to him………but This place beggars belief…staffless until breakfast..the wrong key codes sent prior to arrival then argued with over that fact.ive got it in front of me in a txt and the guy is arguing that he cant have sent the wrong number…a beautiful old charming building that clearly hasn't been cleaned or maintained for a long time.ill fitted carpet in my four poster room which my partner tripped over and whilst on the floor noticed the bed was two mattresses deep-no bed base no support just sink into 2 feet of squish…on getting to her feet while i laughed(she wasnt hurt) she noticed the seat base at the table-it looked like a water colour map of the world.god know what it was but pretty bloody filthy…..then came the bathroom.the black mold running down the silicone joints top to bottom in the shower were a microcosm in their own right, the shower door jamb and track were actually furry with brown mold…the place is staffless until breakfast and there’s allegedly a 24hr cancellation policy so youre stuffed until morning…morning was something else aswell…..prior to ordering breakfast i asked for clean towels and the tea/coffee to be replenished, the girl smiled and said yes of course politely and took our breakfast order-then returned with a tesco carrier bag with towels and condiments and handed it to me…my wife and i actually burst out laughing and the girl didnt quite get why…..breakfast was served….the poached eggs had so much vinegar added to the pot that they actually dried my wifes mouth out and mad her wince …my full english was present but not correct-quite possibly the cheapest ingredients ive been served with cold tomatoes to boot…it actually tasted of nothing-nothing at all-like a hint of a memory from a breakfast.oh and the coffee was a hoot The trouble is tho-once one thing comes to your attention you start noticing others-i havent the time to speak of all the faults. Now i understand budgets and i understand making profit but this place it going to slide into oblivion if some one doesn't sort it out. We left-i didnt even bother complaining…i new from the kitchen staff and the way the cook spoke to the staff and few customers that approached her to know id be wasting my time and to be honest i was so pissed off i thought better of bothering only to reach no conclusion and to have it winding me up for the rest of my holiday. Do not book a stay here.we left and found a chain hotel up the road for 72 quid with clean rooms and actual food-no mold in site.

Room 11. Dirty cups, spoons and even the kettle.Bath panel broken with jagged edge exposed. Light shades full of dead insects. TV no signal. Bedside wall light loose and potential health hazard. Mattress that Fred Flinstone would find uncomfortable. Breakfast resembled 1980s motorway services food ( to be clear, not how it was cooked but the poor quality of products). £155 a night for the worst experience in forty years.

Not stayed here as we live local, However did notice a sign outside for the first time advertising the garden. Thought we’d give it a go and although the beers not on draught, no complaints, a can tastes just as good. The garden though is stunning,, full of greenery and so quiet. Really to recommend, even if for a couple of cannies.
