The staff are too caring and make the stay perfect

Amazing hotel. Great food, lovely setting right in the heart of the new forest with stunning walks all around. Finally, the staff are unbelievable, lovely people that can't do enough for you.

We have just arrived home after a nice stay at the hotel… there are plenty of positives but also some negatives that definitely had an affect on the stay. Firstly I must commend the hotel itself - beautiful, clean and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful during the stay. We also had a fantastic meal on Wednesday evening. The food was magnificent. However there are some negatives which I must raise…we had a major issue with noise from outside our room (119) at 5.45am every morning from the delivery lorry unloading every day, which made it impossible to stay asleep past 6am - not what we wanted from a break which was supposed to be a recharge and refresh. Combined with this was the added noise from directly above the room. It sounded though there were bare floorboards and whoever was there (not sure if it was staff accommodation) didn’t stop moving around until gone 11pm every day and also began at the crack of dawn. When we raised this on checkout, instead of any sort of apology all we got was a response of “strange”, as if this has never been an issue before which I would be surprised at. It did put a bit of a dampener on the few days rest and I’m not sure I would be happy to stay in such a room again.
