Ormonde House Hotel

Reception was very friendly and welcoming. The room was a good size with all toiletries, etc, provided. Breakfast was pre-order, no problem. It was very good and staff efficient. We both had a good night's sleep which is key. There is a bar on-site with plenty of outside seating if the weather permits. Overall, good value for money.

Just returned from our 4th stay at this hotel. Perfectly placed for both the forest and town. Delightful hosts. No hesitation in recommending the venue to others.

On arrival I was met by a friendly smiling face on reception, and after booking in was given the key to Room 17. This was up 2 flights of stairs, which if I was any older would be extremely difficult and dangerous. The stairs are quite steep and the steps are literally half the width of any I've climbed. This is not the hotels fault but design of hotel. One more point which I believe is important to look into ,the information folder in the room which has the menus in,has the wrong prices in it for the evening meals. It also doesn't show anywhere a 20% tax on all meals. So a £13.95 meal actually costs £16.80. Which for some people would cause issues. Think this needs to be highlighted The room was bright, clean and the bed was superb. Copious amounts of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were provided Plenty of wardrobe space and an outstanding bathroom, stocked well and exceptionally clean. The food was outstanding and I would highly recommend the Gurhka curry which was delicious. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and again cooked to perfection. However, one recommendation would be to ditch the orange squash and lemon water for actually juices, orange, grapefruit, pineapple. The hotel , although situated on the main road had no road noise, even when emergency vehicles went past .. Q. Would I return? A. Most definitely Thank you for a very pleasant stay . Nick
