We only stayed for one Sunday evening, but our experience was absolutely faultless from start to finish! Our room was clean, spacious, and beautifully furnished, complete with a super comfortable Super King size bed — we both slept so well. The bathroom was equally well-appointed with a spacious shower and a separate bath. We had dinner at the hotel in the evening. While the menu was fairly small, that was actually a positive—the food was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious! Breakfast the next morning was also wonderful with a great selection to choose from. We were given an extra sausage for our dog at breakfast, which she thoroughly appreciated! The location is great with lovely walks right on the doorstep, and the entire hotel is genuinely dog-friendly. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our visit. We have no hesitation in recommending The White Buck and will definitely stay again next time we are in the area.

An excellently appointed hotel, well above the average. Plenty of little extra touches to make guests feel wanted - like offering a flask of cold fresh milk for one's, in-room, morning tea. Superbly trained and efficient staff who all worked with enthusiasm and a genuine interest in looking after guests to the maximum: nothing was too much trouble. Very much looking forward to an opportunity to return.

Visited for early dinner, sat in garden area, pub was quiet. Ordered the burger and a Mediterranean salad with the extra option of prawns. The burger & chips were surprisingly small, but we were shocked when the salad was delivered as not only was this quite small too, there were ONLY 3 prawns on it. As it was an extra £4 to have them, it meant that each prawn cost us £1.33…. No server came out to check everything was ok. The salad also lacked the cucumber and red onion detailed on the menu. I also fished out a piece of lettuce that was brown and looked quite old, which should never have reached my plate. Overall , the food was fairly average and quite bland, but neither dish represented value for money taking into account the taste, quantity or presentation. On our way out we both visited to bathroom, the loos were not clean, and the hand towel bin was overflowing. There seems to be very little care & attention to detail at this place, which is a great shame as it’s in a lovely location. No wonder it was quiet.
