What a fantastic place to stay, the location, staff, breakfast are amazing, we stay for three nights and it’s a great dessert to explore the New Forest, the hotel is circa 16th century but the accommodation and set up is modern and well appointed, the breakfast and produce is of very high standard along with all the homemade cakes. This is a great place to stay if you have a Gluten Allergy as the food and are mostly Gluten Free. The owners and head of house are very friendly and most welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them, we plan to visit the New Forest again in the future and this will be our go to place. Great set up and fantastic team would highly recommend.

We loved it ! It was a surprise trip for my birthday and husband did well!! We started off at Esme’s Tea Room (review separately) for an amazing afternoon tea. Had a lovely warm welcome from Helen the owner, who showed us and our sausage dog to our cosy room. We had room 2 on the ground floor and was beautifully presented. Spotlessly clean. Comfiest bed ever Smart bathroom , and for us was perfect as side door outside for those doggy necessities! The hotel has parking right outside too just for guests Breakfast was included which is taken in Esme’s Fabulous choice , freshly cooked, excellent produce and great service What more could you want. Highly recommend And thanks.

Staying at the Thatch Cottage was a wonderful experience. The location is excellent. It's an easy walk from the train station. You're in the midst of the village and yet can access the New Forest by foot. The atmosphere was charming and cozy, as one would hope in a 16th-century thatched cottage. The room was certainly big enough for the two of us and our dog. The bed was comfortable. The bath provided everything we needed, including a really good shower, and it was exceptionally clean. The room was also well-maintained throughout our entire stay. The breakfast was really a surprise in that they offered a great selection with everything prepared fresh, unlike the steam table buffet one often finds. With any place, it's the staff that made the visit special. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed, well taken care of, and provided with everything we needed or requested. The Thatch Cottage Hotel really is a gem, and I would hardly recommend it for anyone visiting the New Forest.
