We stayed here for one night. Beautiful room. Exceptionally clean and well appointed. The meal in the pub was really delicious. We both had the steak pie. Breakfast was also excellent with a good choice on the menu. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Highly recommended the Pilgrim inn.

When I booked this hotel online, I expected a quaint little cosy thatched pub. It’s none of that - except the thatch. It’s quite a large pub and although there are some small nods to a traditional old building - low dark beams etc, it’s really a modern lookalike. The thatch however, is very impressive. Breakfast very nice. Dinner pretty average; kind of obvious this was a pub without a real chef who actually makes dishes from scratch rather than warms them up. The hotel rooms are excellent. Very modern and spacious. Great bathroom. However the bed had a very lumpy and uncomfortable mattress so not much sleep. Location excellent for Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and the New Forest.

Ate there twice on a long weekend visit to Marchwood. Good food and good service.
