Holiday Inn

We stayed for one night in a Standard Double Room and had a very comfortable experience. The room was spacious, clean, and pleasantly quiet, with strong air-conditioning that kept us perfectly cool during the hot summer . A nice, modern touch was the abundance of USB and USB-C charging ports. Additionally, the free parking for IHG members was a fantastic benefit. However, dinner at the hotel's only restaurant was disappointing. We found the food quite underwhelming. It felt overpriced for the quality delivered.

Hotel was clean but I have been completely let down by receiving a parking charge. I am a diamond elite member with IHG and upon arrival I was told parking was complementary for me and I did not need to do anything as they would confirm my registration so there would be no charge. A few weeks after I get a parking charge letter which after several attempts calling the hotel they confirmed that I should not of been charged and they would sort it. Well yet another letter came through the post last week regarding the charge so they had obviously not sorted it as promised. I have appealed direct to the parking company and provided evidence of my stay included the room number but apparently that is not enough evidence so I have to pay a penalty charge. Safe to say I won’t be stopping at the Voco Winchester again and for anyone who decides to be aware of getting wrongly charged. Plus no help from the staff to remove it when they clearly did not do the entering of my vehicle reg like the said they would. I did say to them on checking in that I would enter it but they said no need we do it all for you . Well thanks but no thanks

The Hotel is fine but the parking is a disaster. On arrival I entered our registration number into the iPad on the front desk as required in order not to be charged by the parking company as parking was included. Unfortunately on arriving home I have received six seperate administration charges of GBP30 each from the car hire company and six fines of GBP100 each from Parking Eye, the parking company. The hotel has reversed five of those fines, but one is still outstanding, and my last communication on this has not been responded to by the hotel, nor by Budget the car hire company. So in total I have been charged GBP180 by Budget for "administration" of letting me know about these fines, and still have a GBP60 fine from Parking Eye that has not been reversed. It turned out to be a very expensive stay, and a lot of hassle dealing with this! Be aware this could happen to you.
