Lainston House

Recently celebrated our wedding, which was a small intimate event, at Lainston House, The wedding manager, Lydia, was a delight to communicate with, and organised it perfectly. Our party was incredibly well looked after by Carls all day, even a member of the bar team pitched in by taking a few photos for us. Overall, thanks to the Lainston team we had a perfect day and a lovely overnight stay, we couldn’t have been looked after better.

Our stay at Lainston House was wonderful from start to finish. The house itself is stunning and with an interesting history, which the staff will share with you upon request. Our room, the "Ruby" room was gorgeous -- huge! The bathroom was huge, too, with beautiful tile work, stained glass windows, and an enormous shower. The grounds are extensive -- it is set in a true country house park setting. The lawns immediately surrounding the house are well manicured, and there are ample tables and chairs if you'd like to sit outside and enjoy the sun. I can't say enough about how accommodating the staff are -- they truly and cheerfully met my many requests and made me feel like it was never any trouble. (Thank you, Lainston House team, for going above and beyond, especially with my room service order on the first night!) They were friendly, welcoming, gracious, and unpretentious - - truly worthy team members at a 5-star property. We also ate at the onsite restaurant, the Wellhouse, one night, which we loved!! I'll hopefully get a chance to write a separate review for that, but I can summarize here by saying it was one of the best restaurants we ate at during our trip to the UK. The food, cooked over a woodfire, was delicious, and even a picky eater like me was able to find multiple things to enjoy. The ambience at the restaurant was relaxing and very family-friendly, yet classy. We stayed at Lainston House for three nights, and it wasn't long enough! We will definitely be returning for a longer stay next time!
