Campfield House B&B

Right on the road, rooms are way too small. For a retired couple a small bed, which is on one side against the wall. Shower is quite fancy - that's it. Heating does not work in the bathroom. Pig cold! Huge balcony, but not usable in rain. Okay, he can't help it.. There is no way to store clothes, no closet. In the bathroom no storage facilities for wash bag. A small towel for two people. No mugs, soap or anything else as we know it from all B&Bs. Breakfast costs £10 extra for a really outrageous room rate. Unfortunately also only 7:00 or 8:15 the possibility for breakfast. The walls are thin and you can hear extremely loud the ventilation / water / flushing from the neighboring room. We already know some B&Bs, but this is the worst.

Campfield House Bed and Breakfast is a lovely little escape just outside of Fort William, perched right along the shores of Loch Linnhe. The views alone are worth the stay calm, peaceful, and perfect for a quiet moment with a cup of tea. The room was clean, warm, and well-equipped with everything you’d need for a short stay. Breakfast in the morning was traditional and hearty, served with a smile and a side of loch views. It’s a great base if you’re exploring the Highlands, Glen Coe, or even hiking Ben Nevis. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that it’s a bit out of the town center, so having a car is helpful. That said, the tranquility you get in return is more than worth it.

Very quiet location. Beautiful grounds with a fantastic loch view. Great location right before arriving at Fort Williams. Onsite parking available. Please note breakfast is NOT included, but available for an added fee. (Breakfast was good, standard Scottish fare with selections available.) Very pleasant host. Stairs are narrow and steep, but not a problem.
