Absolute disgrace....£105 for the tinniest room and bed I've ever seen. Top floor smelled of damp and mould. Wouldn't even call it a room, more like a cupboard with a tiny bed crammed into it. No where to put bags down or even turn. Whole place had the overall appeal and atmosphere of a tramps funeral. If the rooms here were £15 it would still be too expensive but at £105 a night are a joke. A perfect example of everything that's wrong with the Isle of Skye. Avoid at all costs, you would be more comfortable sleeping outside on the beach.

Having stayed a night in the Independent Youth Hostel, and the SYHA hostel in Portree, this was by far my best experience. After walking from the bus stop in pouring rain, with a heavy rucksack I was soaked and tired! The kind lady gave me a warm welcome, and let me in although a few hours before check in, so I could put my rucksack in the wetroom, and sit in the dayroom with a cup of hot tea, relax and dry off! I enjoyed the peace and quiet after noisy Portree. The hostel looked newly modernised, and a beautiful view across the water. My female room just had 1 other lady in, so we both got a bottom bunk! Toilet right next to the room. I slept well. Massive kitchen with everything you need. I have booked another stay in May, to relax and recouperate after staying in Portree for Skye Live!! Thank you to all the staff, you all made my stay very pleasant, and much more friendly and relaxed than those at Portree!!!

The hostel is located in a very small town that could be convenient for a stopover in the highlands. I have only spent one night but I slept comfortably. The room was a bit tiny and not much room to put your stuff. The staff was friendly and the common area cozy.
Some shower room was very smelly while others were ok.
