Crerar Craiglynne Hotel

ROOM 106. This room should not be used by this hotel. It has a double bed in it, but no room for bedside tables. It has a basin behind the main door and a sliding door to a micro shower/toilet room. You can see the person on the toilet from the bed. See photos. It is noisy. When other guests use their toilet you can hear it in our room. The downpipe outside our window leaks and water splashes against the wall. The towel rail in the micro shower room is over the toilet. Unhygienic. We asked to be moved and there was no alternative. 'It is what it is'

The hotel looks impressive from the outside, but inside needs refreshing; the bedroom we occupied was distinctly tired. The TV was one of the smallest I've encountered in a hotel room for many a year. The poorest part was the restaurant food, dinner being reminiscent of school meals. For 5 nights the 'fresh fruit salad' consisted of a few cubes of melon, and the service was more miss than hit.

I actually come from grantown on spey but moved away many years ago, I was disappointed with the room as it clearly needed decorating and the bathroom was old and tired, the size of the room was good, tea and coffee in short supply ok if you like decaf coffee but no normal type,2 nights the main course was only warm not hot, the first night too tired to complain but the second night i did, i was disappointed that as a scottish hotel in the highlands there was a lack of scottish staff, lastly my husband accidently left his shaver in room and 2it took nearly 3 weeksto receive it back despite ringing several times, paying over the phone to get it returned, not impressed with this. overall average stay, average room and average food.
