Mercure Inverness Hotel

Disappointed by the value for money; the photos on the Accor app do not look like the establishment at all! It is very dated; only the bathroom seems to have been redone, but there is a major lack of space to put one's things, so it is not practical. The wooden surfaces are sticky, and the mattresses seem to be old. Fortunately, it remains clean, but not up to what one can expect from such a brand at such a price (£900 or 1050 euros for 3 nights with breakfast in the summer). Speaking of breakfast, we found the selection a bit meager; the buffet quickly runs out of pastries, and restocking takes time. The fruit was not of good quality. The "conveyor belt" toaster drops the slices of sandwich bread under the machine. It is difficult to find a table at 7 a.m.; the room could be better laid out, which would allow for more tables, as many spaces are empty. You have to rush to a table as soon as it is vacated and ask the staff to clean/clear it so you can sit down, even though they are already busy with another task. I noticed many trips by the employees to the kitchens, whereas a clearing cart would help streamline the service (seen in a previous hotel). The location in the center of Inverness is ideal for getting around the city and for leaving on organized excursions early in the morning, but at the cost of noise from the bars in the evening (sometimes until past midnight), at least if your room faces the street. The restaurant in the hotel is decent. I notice after the fact that many comments go in this direction, I did not pay attention to it because I trusted the Mercure brand and this stay alone allowed me to keep my Silver status for the coming year. I regret my choice.

Sayed one night at the Mercure hotel Inverness. Great location for town center. Car park right at the front. Room on the third floor. It was nice and quiet. All the amenities were there. My only negative point would be about the building itself. It is not pretty and very much danages the lovely street its on and a full refurbisment to make it blend in would be ideal.

My husband and I stayed here in April 2026. The hotel is nice, but older. The elevators are pretty small and one of them went on the fritz while we were there and started alarming. It was soon resolved. The room was older and dated, but clean and the bed comfy. The windows opened for evening air and a lovely view. BUT and the only but I have about the hotel was the street noise was HORRIBLE. We were kept awake until wee hours because of the loudness on the street of partygoers. There was laughing, hollering, barfing and glass breaking until about 2am. So keep that in mind. The resturant and bar were good and the breakfast buffet was stocked and had a lovely variety. It is centrally located, but we only stayed 1 night and didn't venture out. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
