Tullochard House

We booked the room with the separate entrance and bathroom so we never went inside the main house. Such an adorable room! Had a nice mudroom for shoes/coats, coffee supplies and cookies upon arrival. Bathroom was very modern and the shower was the best! Very, very quiet. Felt like we were the only people in Dunvegan! Hosts were MORE than accommodating since we had to check in very late into the evening due to flight issues and had to leave very early on our departure day due to leaving to catch the car ferry. They still provided us a hot breakfast before we left. They were so, so friendly. Breakfast was delicious…they had five different options to choose from each morning…and brought everything hot and straight to your door in the cutest basket. I actually felt spoiled! Location is perfect…along the main road (only saw a few cars drive past) with the restaurants so you can walk to them. Hosts sent a message when we booked about going ahead and getting reservations for dinner in Dunvegan because the restaurants fill up fast and we did. Glad we did because we watched people come into the restaurant we ate at and get turned away due to being fully booked. Tullochard House is a perfect place to stay and minutes from the castle.

I pulled up on Stef and Toms driveway a couple weeks on a work trip only to be told they weren’t expecting bookings for another couple weeks and I’d been booked into the wrong place and not this one. They’d also just came back with their dinner and still said give us ten mins and we’ll get you a room sorted and I mentioned I had coeliac so they didn’t have to worry about breakfast since they were going to put me up for the night and 5 minutes later they handed me the keys to my room and freshly baked gluten free cookies. I felt welcomed at home instantly. I went for a wander after eating all the cookies without breathing and there’s a surprising amount of restaurants and cafes to explore and meet locals. I’ll be back wether it’s for work or personal, but I need at least double the amount of cookies next time.

A perfect spot for a base on the isle of Skye, close to nice restaurants and attractions. Free parking and amazing Scottish breakfast. Wonderful hosts. Modern self contained bungalow on host’s property. Very private. Comfortable bed
