Royal Hotel Stornoway

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Royal. our room was excellent overlooking the harbour and Lews Castle, always something to see outside. we had a very good meal on our final night of a 3 night stay. without a doubt your staff are your best asset. all reception staff extremely helpful and Jade in the restaurant very friendly and helpful. an early start on our last morning meant being early in the breakfast room, where there was a buffet breakfast but still a helpful staff member around too. they do great seafood dishes but plenty of other choices such as Sunday roast. Sunday is a busy day in their restaurant because of Harris and Lewis strict Sunday observance laws and it's one of the few places open to eat. we did find a petrol station open briefly in the morning doing a roaring trade in bacon rolls etc.

Where do I start? Every staff member was so friendly and helpful. The hotel was charming. The rooms were clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We were told before arriving that the restaurant was the best in town, and the food was delicious. Finally, the hotel was located in the middle of everything we'd hoped to see, directly along the waterfront. Would highly recommend the Royal Hotel for anyone staying in Stornoway.

The Staff at The Royal Hotel Stornoway were very friendly and happy to help where needed. Their Boatshed and HS1 restaurants prepare great food in a warm atmosphere. The Outer Hebrides / Isle of Lewis is a must for any traveller, as Stornoway has many beautiful beaches, vistas and castles to explore. The Taxi company STS ( Stornoway Taxi Service ) are able to drop off and pick up from Airport, they also provide tours of the island, especially the Callanish Sunrise Tour which is amazing.
