Hilton Isle of Man hotel

Good location on the seafront at Douglas. Room very tired and shabby. Built in the 70's and not changed since then. Wallpaper marked and ripped, huge crack in wall, dated pine furniture with veneer bobbling, dirt behind curtain, no air condoning, lampshade hanging off bulb. Bathroom very small, toilet not flushing, toilet roll holder loose, cracked tiles, mould, broken and dirty extractor cover ( no extractor fan), water in shower changes constantly from cold to scalding hot without touching the taps. Breakfast acceptable if you like a luke warm cooked breakfast and continental breakfast with no rolls. Coffee machines churning out tasteless coffee. Great coffee at the Paramount or Cafe Royale. Left a day earlier to stay in a lovely B & B. Waiting for a refund ......

I enjoyed my stay at the Palace Hotel, my room was a good size, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. The health club was well-maintained and although on the small side, had all the gym equipment I needed. Lookys Bar is a nice hotel bar. The hotel is a pleasant walk along Douglas Promenade into the centre of town. Yes, some of the communal areas could do with some rejuvenation, but ultimately this is a good value, if quirky, hotel that does what it says on the tin.

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights. Our room was spotless. The staff were so friendly. Food was amazing . We have booked again for next year for a longer stay. Yes like a lot of hotels in Isle Of Man it needs a update. But for us clean bedding and towels and lovely food and friendly staff make up for this
