The Boat House - Isle of Wight

Huge disappointment tonight. We don’t go for dinner to the boat house in the summer as it’s too hectic so this was our first visit since the spring. Chicken satay starter with a horrendously bland watery satay sauce! Never tasted anything like it and no skewers just lumps of bland chicken. Moules Thai style with broth which looked and tasted like water. Prawn starter which tasted of nothing and the prawns were bordering on undercooked. The only redeeming dish was the pie and I only had that because there was literally nothing else on the menu apart from burgers and Caesar salad or fish and chips! The menu on the website is the old one - when it was good! We sat for so long waiting for our table to be cleared and the dessert menu brought that we gave up waiting and paid our bill at the bar. There was no apology for the lousy food and no attempt to rectify my complaint. We won’t be returning again. This place has gone up and down once too many times now and we won’t spend another penny there.

Came for lunch really good food with good service and a sea view what perfect day
