Best location on the island as near to town but a bus station nearby to take you around the island for £1.70! There is a M&S nearby for picnic lunchtime snacks. This hotel is ten minutes walk to Castle Cornet and the outdoor swimming pools and beach. This hotel has a beautiful secluded garden for sunbathing with a sauna, pool ,jacuzzi and steam room.Cold water is provided. Good restaurant, bar and newly decorated lounge .Freshly cooked breakfast in the morning with a good buffet selection also . Rooms have all amenities and newly refurbished bathrooms. Good selection of complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, chocolates in room. Very helpful staff and spotless rooms. 10 min walk to Victor Hugo house ( if it says fully booked on website phone and they will give you a timeslot) On a steep hill ( so amazing views) but there is a complimentary shuttle bus which also gives a free tour of the island which was very good and went around the beaches and to the little chapel. Guernsey is a very pretty, friendly ,unspoilt island.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location. Room clean & spacious with comfortable bed. Fruit, drinks, biscuits etc a nice extra touch. Lots of well thought out communal areas. It was good to be able to use the pool etc at the end of a day out. Good choice at breakfast. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Would recommend Castle Cornet and a trip to Herm.
Our only negative was we booked our taxi through the hotel for our trip back to the airport and it was £7 more expensive than our journey from the airport to the hotel despite the trip taking less time on the return leg. So book your own taxi.

We had our family holiday here this year. Absolutely fantastic. First class service, rooms (spotlessly clean with air con) and amenities (including indoor health suite / swimming pool ) with real attention to detail. Delightful gardens and inner courtyard. Dinner in the Copenhagen restaurant was lovely as was breakfast in the Wellington Boot with fantastic views of the harbour / Castle to die for. Make sure you visit other hotels in the group as well (Moores in town and Les Rocquettes just outside) similarly for superb dining experiences and Annis cafe/ patisserie at Moores as well for lunch/ snacks on the terrace. The only thing I don't understand is why De Havelet does not have 5 stars!
