Just returned from our stay to celebrate our special wedding anniversary @ the Biarritz Hotel, Jersey which was ruined.
Although the building is quite luxurious with fantastic views of the beach and sea the service is far from that of a 4 star (reported) hotel. The wait for our meals after placing our order was an hour or more on several occasions. Our meals were either served luke warm or over cooked on other occasions. The waiters were trying their best to placate the hotel guests, who were certainly not happy. There are three chefs employed at the hotel bit two were on holiday. The one left on duty was certainly struggling and unable to deliver acceptable 4 star hotel meals.
The mattress on our bed was much smaller than the bed frame causing me to bang my leg every morning getting out of bed and once during the night (1 a.m) I badly bruised my left shin returning from the ensuite toilet, knocking it on the protruding frame. I am currently awaiting a scan to check for internal bleeding. I wrote it in the accident book and was told the manager would be contacting me before our departure but this DID NOT happen.
In conclusion my wife and I will not only be returning to the Biarritz but also the island Jersey.

Good size room with a lovely terrace with sun loungers room s1b, fabulous views of the bay, but everything else was either poor or terrible, no aircon in room, the one evening meal we had was terrible, the smallest mussels I’ve ever had and the did not smell good, l left most of them, my wife had the duck it was ok although she complained it was cold, we waited for over one hour for our food, lots of people complaining about the time it was taken, the hotel did not charge us for our mains, breakfast again took longer then you would expect, the selection was good the English breakfast had seven items on it, but if you only ordered sausage egg and bacon you only got one piece of each
Would I stay here again sadly no,

Our stay got off to a disappointing start. Despite having received written confirmation that our room would have twin beds, this was not the case on arrival. Unfortunately, the receptionist handled the situation poorly, questioning us at length rather than simply apologising and arranging for the issue to be corrected. A colleague subsequently intervened, apologised and resolved the matter promptly.
The hotel is quite basic, and the lack of air conditioning was a significant issue, particularly as temperatures exceeded 30°C during our stay. The room became extremely hot and uncomfortable, especially at night. There was also no refrigerator, despite there appearing to be sufficient space for one, which would have been particularly useful in the heat.
Breakfast was disappointing, with poached eggs consistently being served with firm yolks. Other simple requests were also sometimes misunderstood, and service in the restaurant and at the bar was slow. On one occasion, we had to approach reception to find someone to assist us at the bar.
On a positive note, aside from the receptionist at check-in, the staff were generally friendly and pleasant.
Although the hotel is in an excellent location, I would not recommend staying here during the height of summer. The lack of air conditioning, combined with inconsistent service, significantly affected our overall experience.
