La Barbarie Hotel

What can I say, yet another outstanding, amazing and beautiful stay at this beautiful hotel. Same room as always which always makes it feel like a second home, beautifully clean and welcoming as always. Staff are fantastic, the lovely Ravais has the restaurant working like clockwork, meticulously attentive we didn't want for anything, he does an amazing job and along with the lovely restaurant staff its a truly enjoyable place to be. Josh, Francel, Hannah and all the other staff are so helpful and attentive and always have a wonderful smile for their guests....well done and a huge thank you to them all for making us feel so welcome. Food was amazing as always...goats cheese salad...well Ravais and josh guessed my choice without the need of the menu, I must be so predictable. A big thank you to housekeeping, room was kept beautiful clean everyday. Can't fault our stay in what has to be the most beautiful and best hotel on this stunning and gorgeous little piece of island paradise. Big thank you to the staff on reception, already booked in for next year and we can't wait to be back. Thank you all, keep doing the amazing jobs you do and we can't watch see you all next year....maybe sooner 😀

We love La Barbarie and have stayed here a lot over the last 15 years or so. This was our first trip since September last year and we hoped things were the same.. knowing that the fantastic Liam was no longer the general manager. Well.... yes it was. Raivis and Joshua always great (excellent customer service from both of them) as are all the restaurant staff. Food wonderful as usual. We never eat anywhere else when in Guernsey! Would be even better if breakfast went back to a 'served' meal (as it was years ago) rather than a buffet. Liam knew our thoughts on that one! And I know it will never go back! We were in a poolside room as usual, which we love. It is always very clean and tidy. Didn't think the new addition of a food basket was necessary though! Housekeeping staff are also very friendly and polite. So... the one very small niggle was that the new general manager was not very 'visible' to us on our 5 night stay. We saw him in the distance once by the pool and one evening in the restaurant for about 5 mins. He asked the couple on the table next to us how their food was. He didn't even acknowledge us.. let alone ask if everything was ok! This was quite disappointing and we thought a little rude. Seeing as we are 'old barbarians'.. we thought a general manager would have made a bit of an effort! Liam always made a point of seeking us out every day to check all was as it should be. Apart from that we had a wonderful stay and still love La Barbarie. The webiste could also do with an update... the news page is a bit out of date!

Great little hotel excellent room with terrace staff brilliant friendly and smiling food was also very good to from breakfast /sandwiches and dinner too fresh and tasty
