Plumpton House

Stayed here whilst working in Margate. A lovely well present spacious building with great hospitality.

Plumpton House itself was charming, but very dated. Initial greeting at check in, was however, inexcusable. We were made to feel we were a problem as we arrived 10 minutes before check in time at 4:00pm. It got worse.. We thought we had paid already but in fact they were holding the card details in order to pay on arrival on the day. This of course was fine, but before we could say we understand... he got very defensive and demanded payment and said he wasn't going to stand and argue with us. At which point i was happy to get back in the car and find somewhere else to stay. We did however decide to stay. Sadly we would not wish to stay again or recommend this venue to anyone else as its not how we wish to be treated. Id like to offer helpful advice... In order for a business to thrive you must put the very best staff you have at check in. This way your paying customers will feel valued and appreciated, it also helps a great deal to overlook the poor decoration and hard bed.

Oh dear ..The place was so hard to find in the dark ,phoned owner who didn't understand much English,anyway found in the end ,wish I'd slept in my car . Smelly when you walk in ( what is that smell ?) Shared shower YUK carpet grubby. Room Cold , carpets grubby ,dust every where ,could not sleep because of noise esp loud voices and moaning !. Not my best choice and tbh won't be yours either. Needs a massive update . Sorry but have to be honest Guess what by 5.30am was in my car in a carpark ..
