Such a disappointment. We travelled here for a family wedding and, while the natural surroundings are beautiful, the guest and wedding experience is absolutely dire. They treat you like a pirate running into their establishment immediately upon arrival by demanding you pay £50 in case you take complete leave of your senses and destroy the room they give you. My husband said, on the way to our room, that the rooms must be nice if they do that. But no. The rooms are dated, the bathrooms are grimy, the towels are hard, the water pressure is awful and there is a funny smell through the whole place. Our daughter and son in law had a room in a different part of the hotel and their toilet had a very worrying smell. The staff are immensely and shockingly rude whatever. interaction you have with them, even during the run up to and in the management of the wedding. One woman, who seemed to be in charge, carried through the theme of treating guests like criminals and addressed and herded us as if we were in Broadmoor prison. The event food was awful and tasteless and the breakfast was inedible. I would not encourage anyone to have an event here, let alone an important life milestone.

Came here for a family birthday meal this week. Food was awful! The cod was very under cooked, the bread on the sandwiches was stale, it took over 30mins for them to bring my daughters food out when we had all nearly finished our food. Over 25 minutes for drinks to be bought over. We have heard bad things about the chef and his hygiene also. Would definitely not recommend coming here for a meal!
