Travelodge Canterbury Chaucer Central

All staff that we encountered were lovely and very friendly. Stayed for 2 nights to attend graduation ceremony locally. The room did not have a fridge- this is standard even in the most budget rooms and so was very disappointing. In the hot weather, we were unable to have cold drinks. We were not provided with a bath mat during our stay, which meant the bathroom floor was frequently very wet. A bath mat is a very basic and standard item for all hotel stays. The rooms do not have double glazing, which means that there is a fair amount of noise. The location of the room meant that I could also hear people in rge corridors and on the stairs as well as in the room above. Sound proofing was very poor and this was significant. I am a light sleeper and did not sleep very well. Breakfast items were often missing and were re-stocked slowly. It was generally hot and well cooked food. The bathroom was extremely dated and had a material shower curtain rather than a glass screen is not what I would expect in 2026. The toilet was filled with limescale at the bend and needed a deep treatment. Overall, very dated and not good value for money at all. I would not stay here again.

Great location for a visit to the beautiful city of Canterbury but left smelling like an old people’s home. Had windows open to try and lessen the smell but to no avail. Definitely visit the city again but in a different hotel

Location is perfect, very friendly when you arrive, rooms are great, value is good, Had a nice stay, apart from other guests near us they were so disrespectful and it was vey late at night. I would highly recommend this hotel, and staff are helpful and very charming.
