Nicely tucked away offering a comfortable room and good portions of well cooked food. The bedroom was clean and showers hot . A welcoming pint in the bar with cake freshly cooked. Plates of food prepared fresh and good variety. Molly was very helpful thankyou. Good wifi and plenty of parking. Recommended.

A lunch that took exactly an hour to arrive with an excuse they’d had a party of people in so we’re running behind. This was true, however, they arrived almost 30 minutes after us. They then agreed an error had occurred and dinner would be with us shortly. Meanwhile dinner was served to the later arrivals. A tex mex chicken burger with no spice, fish and chips with cold peas and jus. The staff were rude and dismissive to us when we politely explained how dissatisfied we were with both the dinner and the time it took to arrive. The manager told us “Oh well at least you got it!” Very rude. There isn’t much room in the outside eating area as tables are very close in a compact area. A shame this pub is so dismissive to its customers when something goes wrong. When pubs are trying to survive they need to have improved customer service skills.

Pleasant stay for one night , food was great, room very clean although the mattress was too firm for me so not the best sleep Staff friendly , chilled atmosphere and easy to get back on the road again Negatives bed too firm In the old stables very noisy when people are moving around / closing door
