The location is fine. Easy walk to restaurants and the train station. There is no AC but an electric fan is provided - noisy while trying to sleep. The “Georgian Suite” was nothing more than a bed with a canopy and beware of SCALDING HOT water from the sink and “shower/tub”. The combination shower/tub is quite difficult to step in and out of and there is no anti-slip material in the tub. Again, SCALDING HOT water. We knew that we might have to change rooms on our last night there, but there was no reason for the manager to knock on our door at 9:30 at night to remind us (we had been in the room for several hours and had just gotten into bed). The next morning we packed our luggage (we had our own pillows) which we left in the room for housekeeping to move into the new room (upon agreement with manager). When we returned to our new room our personal pillows were nowhere to be found. Three (3) hours later the pillows were found in the housekeeping closet! This B&B provided a bed but no breakfast for reasons unknown. Overpriced and did not deliver per the website.

We had a one night stay at the end of June and this place was very well located to restaurants and pubs. We were able to walk up to the castle from here. Everything was clean, well maintained and the bathroom was good. The 2 big problems we had were the stairs and how hot it was in our room. The stairs were old, narrow and curved and we were on the third floor. If I had known that there was no way to get our bags up to our room we would have chosen differently. The manager/host would not allow us to take our bags up and was very direct on how we should manage taking a few things out to carry up and then store our bags downstairs. The storage area was quite cramped with multiple guests' bags. There was no a/c as this is an old building, but it was so incredibly hot in the third floor room that even with the window open and 2 fans it was miserable. There was no way to cool it down so sleeping was beyond difficult. Nothing to be done about it but just be aware that on a summer visit that top floor is roasting. A couple on the second floor said their room was miserably hot also and they had to sleep with the door to their room open. This would probably be great in the winter time.

Probably the most welcoming hotel I've ever visited! We booked 1 room for 4 adults last minute, because the place we were supposed to stay at cancelled on us when we'd got here.
The lady who runs the place even gave us a second room free of charge when we got here!
The hotel is conveniently located just a couple of mins walk from the town, sea front etc but just out the way enough that there's no noise.
The hotel is stunningly decorated & furnished, and is very very clean.
The lady who runs the hotel is so lovely. She was so friendly, chatty & happy to offer tips of places of interest, restaurants and so on.
Every evening there was some kind of complimentary sweet treat in the entrance like muffins and biscuits.
Then, our first morning there were complimentary croissants and pan au chocolate.
On our last morning she invited us down to the restaurant where she put on a breakfast spread! Eggs, omelette, hash browns, sausage, bacon, baked beans, toast, jams, marmalade, honey, tea, coffee!
She couldn't do enough for us, she's just soo lovely! We will definitely come again, couldn't recommend enough!
