The Marquis

Came here for lunch today with my friend, my friend was excited to see skate on the menu, I ordered the chicken salad. My food was very nice but my friend’s skate was covered in a thick brown gloopy peppercorn sauce, the sauce was so salty it was inedible. We pointed it out at the time and she scraped it off but it spoilt the look and taste of the skate. At checkout there was no dedication at all for the fish meal. When I mentioned it the waiter discounted by £5 off a £67 bill which I don’t think was nearly enough for a spoilt meal. This is our local pub as we like only a few minutes away,

Just a fantastic stay here in Kent! We had a large soaking tub, very good air conditioning, very friendly staff (I think his name was Silva), great breakfast, easy parking, very comfortable bed, stylish furnishing and all at a very reasonable price. What more needs to be said? We highly recommend this hotel. We are frequent travelers and this was one of our favorite places we’ve stayed. Did not have dinner here but the breakfast was free and very good! My only “complaint” was there was too much food. And a short 15 minute ride to Dover.

Beautiful location, great decor/furnishing, excellent service and superb food. The Golden Years menu for older folk is astonishing value. Ample parking but tricky entrance.
