BEST WESTERN CLIFTON HOTEL

The hotel is in a nice location, because it is close to the beach. However, there is nothing else to do around the hotel. The parking in front of the hotel is council parking and it was full, so we had to use an underground parking close by. It seems like there were homeless people living in there as well as the park close by. The room was big, beautiful and spacious and it was clean. We were given a slice of cake, because it was our anniversary. It was a delicious and we appreciated it. The view was off the building opposite and parking. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, it had a large mattress cover, the mattress was hard and the mattress cover made it uneven. There was no toilet brush in the bathroom. Some of the stairs had new carpet and it needed to be cleaned and vacuumed because the fluff made it look dirty. It was eventually done on the third day. The breakfast was ok, I did not like the scrambled eggs and the bacon had white stuff on it, so I did not try it. Tried to buy a muffin from the Costa counter, but it was unattended and when I asked they said someone will come, but took long, so I left. The staff was friendly and polite.

Came in last night after a sleepless flight and a jaunt around London trying to figure out their trains with uber heavy luggage (Thank you Londoners for all your help!). Gorgeous hotel! Lots of Americans! Clean, beautiful, spacious and well-appointed at a fraction of the cost of the same in California! Extremely friendly staff. Great breakfast to try all the English specialties. This is special because I have never traveled abroad before but this feels comfortable and familiar as well as beautiful! AND great views!

Reception staff very friendly. Room spotlessly clean. AC good. Bed comfortable. Shower hot and powerful. Didn't have breakfast due to early Le Shuttle booking. Ample parking right outside - free. Nice view of the Channel. Easy to walk into town centre. Le Shuttle 10 minute drive. Would definately stay again.
