Really good value for money the room was clean and had a lovely sea view. The staff throughout the hotel were lovely. The swimming pool was really good and reasonably priced. Evening buffet was generally good and the breakfast choice was excellent. Very attentive staff topping up regularly.would definitely stay here again

Very mixed bag - yes, this is a cheap hotel and to an extent, you get what you pay for but I do expect clean and I do expect functioning. Start with the good - we stayed in a superior twin - the beds themselves and the bedding were actually pretty good/ comfortable and all the staff we spoke to were polite etc Now the rest - the room was unbearably hot, the window opened about two inches, presumably for h&s reasons which makes sense - I went looking for a fan of any kind and found one in the wardrobe that didn't look like it had been used/ or cleaned EVER. I wiped it down as best I could with a tissue and then moved the fan away from the huge pile of dust and who knows what so that it didn't blast the resultant dirt around the room. Given that room cleaning isn't standard, we then proceeded to tiptoe around the dirt for the rest of our stay which thankfully was short. The bathroom - so, the hot tap worked... at first.... but as soon as you tried to mix it with cold it stopped working completely, no water at all. The shower would only produce stone cold water and at a feeble rate as most of the water was just pouring out the shower hose. Managed a small bath by running the hot and then running the cold but couldn't wash my hair etc. The walls are VERY thin so if you feel like getting amorous, I wouldn't - we heard every move and motion of the couple next door! The second night, we returned to our room to be met with an endless rhythmic drilling noise and were then plunged into darkness when the power went out. Mercifully the staff member was quick to respond and sorted it out and eventually managed to make whatever the noise was stop too. Breakfast - first of all was told the wrong restaurant to go to - worked that one out pretty quickly. No intro or explanation about where anything was or how it worked. Went to the hot food buffet to find rock hard sausages, no bacon, no beans and no tomatoes. Eventually some more bacon came and finally some beans, Gave up waiting for tomatoes. Decided to have fruit instead - fruit platter was two measly slithers of leftover watermelon that looked like they'd sat their for hours. Given that we were there about 9 and b'fast went till 10:30, I hope they did find some more food somewhere! Ended up with tea, the syrup that passes for cranberry juice and a couple of pain au chocolates which were actually quite nice. Didn't eat b'fast there the second morning. Went out and had a great sausage bap at the harbour coffee place over the road. We knew from it's reputation, we were taking a risk but for two nights we thought - let's see for ourselves..... quite simply, never again!
