The Bull Hotel Maidstone/Sevenoaks

For anyone looking to book a wedding then this venue is very very good. You have the chapel onsite, adjoined by a outside entertainment quadrangle which leads into the indoor reception hall.. For anyone staying over in the rooms, certain rooms will face the road so you will be very much disturbed with large Lorry and cars going through at speed. The windows are not fully double glazed given the age of the property therefore the noise is very prevalent. When you book direct for weddings it’s non refundable and extremely expensive for the chance to stay within the venue. More than double the price of other local hotels. Our room was large and the bathroom very modern. The bed was very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast available is excellent quality. Had a lovely wedding which the weather could not spoil due to the excellent facilities but would not stay again due to the location on the road.

This establishment is very tired,it seems they concentrate mostly on weddings due to their close proximity to the local church. However some investment is needed particularly in the hotel side of the business...hotel entrance and stairway very tired indeed,frayed stair carpet and poor decoration. I notice this was mentioned in reviews dating back as far as 2020 so very surprised nothing has been done to date. Nothing special about the rooms either,very poor tea tray and no bottled water, basic things in today's market. Breakfast is ok but nothing special,very limited choice. Have to say that the service in the bar for supper was very good,very polite and attentive. However the menu was very limited and to be honest very overpriced and basic. Four of us ate and all agreed that although it was tasty it wasn't value for money,poor presentation and small portions. It's a very competitive market these days and I believe that for businesses to survive I think they need to listen to their customers comments and improve. I do however feel that this honest review will be ignored by the Bulls owners and nothing will change..shame.

Went for Sunday lunch with family and friends Drinks came promptly however we waited an age for our food. Staff were definitely avoiding eye contact. I ended up going to the bar to ask how much longer we would be waiting. I also ordered more drinks as nobody had been near to ask us if we wanted more drinks. When we had finished our meals nobody came to clear the table. We waited but eventually I went back to the bar to ask if we could order desserts. I was told someone would be over. We ordered desserts and it was only then that our dinner plates were cleared. The dinner plates were very small thus meat piled on top of potatoes and vegetables. Food most definitely overpriced.
