The Spa

I did not stay at the hotel as guests however I went there for a party. Service in the party was nice and polite, however the people at the counter were not friendly. Parking was free at the hotel. The hotel is located close to the town centre. Toilets were clean but old fashion

The reception was most helpful on my arrival. My room was well appointed and very comfortable, with tea / coffee biscuits and all amenties ie robes, ironing board, safe, shower shampoos etc. The gardens were well appinted had plenty of space and nice walking area with excellent views. Breakfast was outstanding !! with a wide range of cook to order breakfast options and a full range of cereal, pastries, cheese and fruit juices, toast. The staff in restaurants went the extra mile and were very attentive, a big shout out to Kira who was very amusing, cheerful and made sure that I had everything I needed. Also, Denise in reception who was very attentive and engaging. My stay was very comfortable, plenty of on site parking. I am returning to Tunbridge Wells next week and after my stay there, I have booked in again at The Spa.

The positive was a wonderful couples massage by Jess & Sofia. Thank you also to the Spa team member who troubled to phone us to explain that their phone system & that of the hotel had been down. Also helpfully they explained we could arrive at the Spa from our hotel in a hotel robe. It would have been helpful to have explained also that the towels have to be collected at reception. We didn't experience the rest of the spa facilities as after our massages we didn't feel like sharing the area with noisy children. The hotel itself was uncontactable when I was trying to book with the phone not working & there was no reply to either my website form or emails. I therefore booked online without any clear confirmation of my requests. I had requested a twin room with a walk in shower. I managed to book the twin & eventually when I spoke to someone with the help of the Spa reception it was confirmed. When we arrived in our room there was only an over the bath shower. Luckily we could shower in the spa when eventually we located towels. This was fairly basic with no hair conditioner or separate body wash and shampoo just one pump unlabelled. A hotel positive was the ease of parking. Sadly another negative was dining on a Sunday evening. We were warned this would be in the bar. I was told on check in that i just charged the meal and drinks to the room & that they would be deducted off my £60 credit in my Sunday deal. This wasn't the case as only food is chargeable. The staff member serving us could not have been more welcoming. The chips were good but both halloumi burger & meat burger over cooked an unappetising. The menu was limited & as non-dessert eaters we didn't spend enough to make the Simply Sunday meal worthwhile. We went into the main restaurant The Orangery for breakfast. It made me think of a smart airport lounge. I am glad that this was closed on a Sunday evening as it lacked fine dining atmosphere.
