Staff were amazing, they couldn’t have been nicer , spa amazing , food lovely Accommodation appalling and dirty , would not dare to walk barefoot on carpets which were probably about 40 years old and did not appear clean .the corridors /staircases/bannisters were dreadful we actually felt like being in a hostel no disrespect to hostels . Very disjointed and most tired hotel I have stayed in ever so much so had to shorten stay. It needs a major uplift and certainly would never stay again . Too many photos to choose from to add

My wife and I came here for two night stay, had an amazing time staff are brilliant the location is perfect, very local to amenities best place to stay in the area

Rooms nice, beds comf, cleanliness very good.. Breakfast was a constant hunt for cups, glasses, and everything seemed to be chaotic. And warm orange juice! Never enough bar staff. Not uncommon to have 8-9 people queing and one person serving on the bar. An idiotic rule for the swimming pool says under 14s (or was it 16s) have to be accompanied pool side by an adult, and the adult is required to sit on one of the handful of plastic chairs in the pool area. I explained that I couldn't sit on one of those hard chairs because of a back injury, The response from the young jobsworth was that "the kid", my grandson would have to leave the pool. I said I would get somebody to sit poolside but my other family members had gone out, so I went and sat in the poolside lounge where I could watch just as easily. The obviously annoyed the jobsworth who marched into the pool, to tell my grandson he would have to get out of the water, because "we have to follow the rules". When I asked why the rules hadn't been followed on the previous two pool visits he couldn't answer. He had seen my 11 year old grandson was a strong swimmer, he is a karate black belt, strong and disciplined but the jobswoth just repeated we have to follow the rules. There are rules everywhere but there is something much more important called common sense. I'm afraid this particular incident left a bad taste on what was our first and last visit to the Dalmeney.
