We stayed for one night to avoid the traffic heading into Blackpool for the Air Show the following day, 8 August 2026, and were very glad we did. Parking is a little limited, but that was a minor consideration as both our room (the 'peacock room number 4) and the hotel overall were fabulous. The décor gives the wonderful feeling of stepping back in time to an earlier era, with an abundance of character and charm. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, and the location is perfect. In fact, we enjoyed our stay so much that we fully intend to return and spend more time exploring both the surrounding area and Blackpool itself. We were pleasantly surprised to discover just how different Blackpool today is from the dismal place we remember from almost 40 years ago. A lovely place to stay, full of character, and highly recommend.

This was my second visit to the Howarth House, and again I was not disappointed. The owner and her staff were friendly and attentive throughout my stay. There was plenty of choices for breakfast, and the cooked food was not overcooked or greasy. The room was quite suitable for a single occupant. The hotel was just a few minutes walk to the sea front, bus stops, the town centre and a choice of restaurants.
