Mars Hotel Seaview Blackpool by OYO

Well what can i say it looks nowt like the pictures on the website it looks rough from the outside if im honest when i got off my tram i was like is that the place...we walked in no one about had to call the owner it looks okish in the reception but going upstairs to our room it was very dated and smelt musty...the room i was given was a fair size but had to complain as the toilet seat was hanging off...he did offer another room a lot smaller a 1980s timewarp...with seagull poop all over the windows..i declined so had to put up with my sliding toilet seat the owner tried to put it back on i was like mate you need a new one...we were woken at 5am by a bunch of seagulls cooing...i looked out of the window seagull poop mounds of it...🤮..gross...what with the dripping from the back of the toilet..the place needs money spent to attract guests in future we had breakfast the dining room was very odd only a few tables old carpets came down to a rack of cold toast on our table however the chef a jolly Scottish fella was lovely i almost felt sorry for him working in such a place...i know this is a long ish review but saves someone else for been dissapointed if it was 22pppn id understand but we paid a lot more thank the Blackpool fairys it was only one night...🥴

The room was clean and had everything I needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are transport links quite near to the hotel and fares are reasonably priced The breakfasts were very good and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend it.

I am extremely disappointed and appauled this property shouldnt even be on your system for people to book we have been riped off and the images used to advertise are false or fake because the room we were given was disgusting and we arrived from work with our children for the light switch and was greeted by this waste of money, instantly ruined our mood. I went to speak to reception to ask for a room change but they were unhelpful. We did look to move hotels however all were booked up due to the event so we had no choice but to stay. The room was small for a family room, it was damaged and damp in there. All the paint work was damaged. The carpets were flithy and never been cleaned. It had a kettle on the bedside table which is ridiculous in the first place but omg there was no way anyone could use the kette it had water left in it then inside was all dirty n brown goo stuck to it i took a picture as was so vile. The wardrobe which didnt have doors on had 3 coat hangers so not even a enough for one each. Everywhere was full of dust. There was one extremely flat pillow each. Then we go onto the ensuite wow that was like a blast from the past tiles older than ya granny.. these tiles were dirty black mould in shower cubicle the silicone seals were broken on the shower so dread to think about the germs held there. There was no glass for toothbrushes just the holder. The shelf was hanging off and the bathroom mirror light didnt work. The toilet roll holder was ripped off. There was no bathroom blind. The radiator rusted and flacking off. There was no chance of using the bathroom light during the night as you turned the light on the fan went on and it was like a plane landing in Blackpool airport. Then the curtains stated they'd be blackout but there was light coming through and the curtains didn't even fill the full window the window was full of condensensation. Lucky we all wear eye masks to sleep as we wouldn't of slept at all and the gap from the door was so large light shone through. Was also advertised as sound proof but yet the whole night was left listening to someone coughing their guts up. Not to mention outside the lift was two huge bags of dirty laundry left there for full duration of out stay. Not that we could of used the kettle without ending up in A&E with some deadly disease the cups left weren't clean n didn't match. No where to do your make up! Went to speak reception before leaving this morning but no1 available which doesn't surprise me because they know they should be offering full refunds. Breakfast was apparently available but after seeing the kettle I'm so glad we didn't book and pay for that in addition to us been robbed for the room in the first place.
