The Colwyn Hotel (nr Pleasure Beach)

This hotel should NOT be tradeing. This is a dump and unsafe place to stay. I would not recommend this place for adults never mind children to stay here. When we stayed we left early. The kitchen was closed/shut down, the bare was selling not for resale cans of beer because they had no draft, no staff wore uniforms plus our room was a joke.

I showed up for check in at approx 7.30pm. Front doors locked, the place was in darkness except for a man lead on the sofa watching TV so I knocked on the window to say I had a room booked and was told the hotel was closed! I showed him my booking and he couldn't have cared less and basically shut the door in my face without providing any help or explanation. It was only booked the night before so they're obviously OK with taking peoples money despite the whole hotel being closed..from the small part of the hotel I saw from outside it seems the place being shut is a blessing because it looked dated and dirty and they want £10 a day for parking judging by the signs in their windows. Hotels.com were unaware the hotel was shut and tried to contact the hotel twice and there was no answer. Thankfully hotels.com were very helpful with sorting me out alternative accommodation and providing a refund but my advice would be to avoid this place at all costs.

Hotel is in extreme disrepair and very very dirty, was on the top floor but wasn’t told lift was out of order till after we paid and it is very visible I’m disabled, after making it up the 3 flights of steep stairs we got to our room which was filthy, stained,damp & cold, bathroom window was hanging out, inadequate bedding,missing light fittings, we checked out at 8am but there was nobody in reception so left key in room and tried ringing 8 times all through the morning to let them know and complain but nobody answered, worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel and only stayed as it was late and had no other choice, please please avoid at all costs, it’s really not worth the risk!!!!!
