The Withnell Hotel

This hotel is less than 5mins from the pleasure beach which is very convenient if that's your main reason for visiting Blackpool. North pier is about 25-30mins walk. It was good value especially since you get breakfast for no extra cost. I stayed in one of the top rooms which was sufficient enough for me. The room itself was quite compact and not really ideal for someone of a large frame as the toilet and shower are almost on top of each other. The bathroom has no sink, that is actually outside in the room. A little inconvenient when youre trying to shave and have no direct mirror in front of you (there is one to the side on a wall) The sink needed to be moved near a mirror ideally. I didn't sleep that well but that's personally because when I go anywhere that happens so I can't fault the hotel on that. The wardrobe has plenty of hangers but there are no other places to put things like drawers or a cupboard due to the size of the room. Breakfast was at 9am which was a little late for me as I like to be up and out early but Wetherspoons (The Velvet Coaster) was 5mins walk. There was a kettle in the room with coffee and tea. Towels, USB, plugs.

What a lovely hotel. Compact room, everything in it that you need. Comfortable bed, so a great night's sleep. Very quiet at night too. Bathroom spacious and clean, nothing broken or falling apart. Lovely atmosphere created by it's congenial owner. Nothing was too much for him. Breakfast was great, full English, cereals, fruit and yoghurts. Highly recommendable. Ideally located near the pleasure beach and Wetherspoons.

Just got back from staying two nights here, I've got nothing bad to say about the place, really friendly owner, and a lovely clean place, with everything in the room you need. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others
