Riverside Hotel Kendal

Perfect location for town and accessing the Lake District. Parking satisfactory and a nice welcome. Our room overlooked the river and was well-equipped and comfortable. Though the furnishing was a little worn, the room was clean and tidy. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. The restaurant serving the evening meal had a pleasing bistro atmosphere and the staff were excellent. The overpriced food was extremely disappointing. First night, the tiny dish of lasagna was poor and the second night's beef-burger had bone and gristle and was served on a dry bun with one lettuce leaf a thin slice of tomato; it was unpleasant. Wine and cocktails were very good. This was a real shame.

Stayed here for two nights recently. It’s a nice enough hotel with friendly and helpful staff, but I was a little dismayed to see a scrunched up used towel outside my bedroom door and the bin in the toilet was full upon check in. Housekeeping needs to be better. Great location though, about 5 mins walk into town.

Stayed at the beautiful hotel as part of a group of 12 for a family celebration. Rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Food was delicious but the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Every member of the team is polite and friendly, they all seem so happy to please their guests. Well done Riverside and Thank you
