Close by the M6 in Kendal, Cumbria, was our one-night stay for visiting friends and the first time we had used this hotel. A warm welcome awaited us in the large, well-appointed, comfortable lounge. Our room was on the second floor accessible by lift which was large enough for a wheelchair and where the buttons were labelled in braille. With several safety fire doors later we reached our room, a large double with easy chair, what appeared to be a single sofa chair, hot drinks, biscuits, clothes storage, TV and en suite bathroom with shower over the bath, and beautiful hand-made soap. Thankfully we had a quiet, uninterrupted sleep, much- needed. Breakfast was excellent with yogurts, fruit, cereals, fruit juices, croissants, pains au chocolat , brown/ white bread, toaster, jams and marmalade. The cooked items on the menu suited most diets. I had eggs Benedict: two poached eggs on bacon and toasted muffin with hollandaise sauce. Perfect. My husband had a selection from the full English. Fresh filter coffee in its jug was hot and god quality. We would highly recommend this hotel for b&B. We cannot comment on dinner but are sure it would be good. This was all of excellent standard at a reasonable price. Congratulations!

Didn’t feel like a 4 star ! They advertised a leisure facility my partner and I pacifically went out and bought a swimwear so we could enjoy an afternoon of a sauna a steam Jacuzzi and a swim however only to find out that the sauna and the steam room were not on. Also, the wine is excessively overpriced at £35 for a rose per bottle ! No complementary shampoo or conditioner in the room is only a bar of soap , to be honest I would not return not after seeing and going to an adjoining Gastro pub down the road that had a wonderful ambience decently priced alcohol and the food was amazing also .
