Clapham Guest House

My room was super comfortable, spacious, and immaculately clean. It offered classic charm with modern comfort, stylish decor, a minifridge, and good working space. The location is a short walk from Clapham’s cafes, restaurants, and transport links to central London. The beds are super comfy, the kitchen is functional to heat the meals in the microwave, and the bathrooms feel like a boutique hotel. I highly recommend it—five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The room (#2) was clean, with high ceilings and a big bathroom. A bit of a pain to have to go and get the key at the sister guest house 5 (if not carrying a suitcase) minutes walk away. A fair trek from Clapham Junction trains and the 2 nearest Tube stops, but plenty of buses. The major downside was the noisy floorboards of the rooms above - if you have agitated upstairs neighbours, you will hear them! PS, no sign outside indicating that you made it!

You have to check in at the Chelsea Guest House, which is a good ten minute walk between the two houses, which was very annoying at the end of an already super long day of traveling. The building itself is very nice and the room was very clean and tidy. The TV in my room didn't work, which was a shame, but the bed was lovely and comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than the bedroom (I stayed in Room 2) which was also very nice and clean. My only issues with this room was that firstly, there was a door that lead outside through the bathroom... I didn't enjoy sitting on the toilet looking straight towards a door that was floor-to-ceiling glass. Anyone could have walked up to it and looked through to see what was going on - even easier when it was dark outside and the lights were on in the bathroom... quite creepy. Didn't enjoy that at all. My second issue was the floorboards of the room above mine. Whoever was in there got up at 4am and pranced around for two hours before they left. It was so unbelievably loud that there was no chance I could have slept through it (it woke me up abruptly and then continued for two hours, so no sleep for me as I had to get up at 6am anyway). That really spoiled my stay, but there wasn't anything that could have been done about it. Other than that, the room was lovely and warm, the shower was great, lots of cupboard space and a wardrobe, and complimentary tea and coffee. I would stay again if needed, but I would ask for a different room.
