Royal National Hotel

Overall, this hotel was average. The location is decent and convenient for getting around London, and the price was reasonable for what we paid. However, there are several areas that need improvement. The cleanliness was disappointing. There was no bin bag in the room bin, there were multiple patches of mould on the bathroom ceiling, and after moving the twin beds together, we found dirt and rubbish underneath that clearly hadn’t been cleaned for some time. The room was also extremely warm during our stay, with outside temperatures reaching around 33°C. As there is no air conditioning, we had no choice but to leave the windows open. Unfortunately, this made it very difficult to sleep due to constant traffic noise, frequent vehicle horns and beeping, and the general noise from the busy road outside throughout the night. Check-in was also frustrating. We arrived at the advertised 2:00 pm check-in time and were met with a queue of around 50 people. Despite having multiple check-in desks, only around half were staffed, resulting in a wait of approximately 40 minutes before we could check in. The facilities were adequate but nothing special. The on-site self-service shop was convenient in principle, but it had completely run out of bottled water in the evening. There is also only one water fountain, located on the ground floor of the North side of the hotel, which isn’t particularly convenient depending on where your room is. The overall atmosphere felt very busy and impersonal. With the large number of guests, long queues, and constant noise, it felt more like a transit hotel than somewhere to relax after a day exploring London. I didn’t have the opportunity to try the breakfast or the bar, so I can’t comment on those. Overall, it’s an acceptable hotel if you’re looking for somewhere reasonably priced in a decent location, but improvements to cleanliness, room comfort, stock availability, the check-in process, and the overall guest experience would make a significant difference.

I had a problem with my room, but Ionut and his manager Olga were really fast, careful and awesome to fix it. I really recommend the service Ionut provided to me, really gentle and he also has an awesome moustache

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It is in an excellent location, making it easy to explore the area. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was rich and varied, with plenty of options. The staff were exceptionally kind, friendly, and always willing to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation for their honesty and outstanding service. I accidentally left one of my dresses in the room, and they kindly arranged to send it back to me. I truly appreciate their care and professionalism. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!
