196 Bishopsgate

I have a booking confirmation with 196 Bishopsgate, booked and confirmed since November 2025. Now 6 weeks prior to my arrival, 196 Bishopsgate email me to say they are undertaking renovations and the Penthouse Apartment I booked, is no longer available. They have re-advertised for 3 times the price AVOID THIS PROPERTY SO YOUR HOLIDAY PLANS ARE NOT DISTRIBUTED.

I've never had such a bad lodging experience. My water heater broke down while I was taking a shower and I ended up taking cold water. What's more, I had to move from room to room in the middle of the night, but I couldn't bathe in hot water because the water heater was broken in the other room. The hotel had promised to fix the water heater the next day, but as a result, it was not repaired enough and the next day only warm water was served, so they gave up the bath. The heating system is broken and it is a difficult inn to spend time in winter. It is not enough for hygiene, with parts of the previous guest's teeth brushing falling off, and if you can afford it, you will regret never choosing another place to stay. It's obviously not the quality of a four-star hotel, I think there are more two-star hotels that are a little better.

Just really poor - venue is more than tired, and the check-in team member was not up to any standard. Really somewhere that I didn't feel comfortable, welcome, or that I wanted to stay - if I had the option, I would have packed up and gone somewhere else.
