Axiom Park Hotel

I thought I would risk staying here after reading some of the negative reviews. It was not a risk worth taking. During the heatwave the room had only boiling hot water coming out of the taps. No cold or even lukewarm water from the taps. The reception said there was a problem but they could not move me to another room as the whole 2nd floor was affected and the other floors had no spare rooms. I was unable to shower because the water was so hot. I had to checkout after 1 night and management would not refund the second nights stay or respond to my 5 emails over 3 weeks. Apart from this, the mattress was old, saggy, uncomfortable. The rooms are very poorly maintained. This hotel should be removed from booking sites and left to fend for itself as it has no regard for its guests. Yes, it's cheap - but pay £10 more and stay in a Travelodge.

Booked this place because it was location location location. Near friends, Battersea power station , Masons pub, Tesco extra, park. Underground parking which is secure but a bit of a pain to get in and out of. Reception area looks nice and modern , bar is for show and has nothing behind it. Reception staff are under stress due to unhappy people who are staying here. Rooms are shabby with old mattresses and Broken or missing items. We arrived in a heat wave to discover the AC in most rooms is non functioning. Fans are provided but are loud and need to be kept on all night to stay cool. Windows barely open and yes I know safety issues etc but 2 inches isnt enough for a breeze to get in... pretty sure these should open 4 inches and no one would fall out... We booked a whole week and I asked to move rooms as we were miserable and hot. I viewed 2 rooms and the second room 306 on a floor above ours was slightly better , cleaner , higher up, window opened a smidge more, so we moved rooms and found it slightly cooler as it was higher than the building opposite so breeze made it in and it was further from the brick and concrete courtyard below which in itself generated alot of heat. We needed chill time in our room so this made a difference for us as we were not out morning to night. If you need a one night hotel in SW11 and wont be in it much this is your one night stand. If you are staying longer , want hotel type amenities and pleasant happy staff this is not the place. The owners need to pull their finger out and make it into the nice place it could be. Proper maintenance, working AC and happy staff. The cleaners , none of whom seem to speak great English, work hard but are on phone calls while cleaning which is very unprofessional. The Reception staff have no authority to offer refunds or make any big changes but they do their best considering. I would book somewhere else.

Where do I start?! I paid additional money for an upgraded room. Firstly, don't fool for that, there are no upgraded rooms. I had 2 colleagues who stayed in standard rooms and they had none of the issues I had. They actually had more amenities in their room. So, the air con in my room was broken, there's no fans and a tiny window that barely opens. I slept in 34° heat and it only went up in the morning. This was unbearable and I got no sleep and it actually made me sick. Secondly, the bedding had mould like, green marks on it and at least one of the towels had a fresh looking brown mark on it!! It says hairdryer is included in the room amenities, but in actual fact you have to go down to reception to ask for it, which I did, and then when I got back up to my room with it, it didn't work. It was also absolutely disgusting and all the vents at the back were clogged full of dirt, dust, hair, mould and whatever else. It also says bottled water is included, however I had none. The water in both sides of the tap were hot, so I had no cool drinking water. Another missing amenity is conditioner, it states it is provided but there was none. The bathroom light has a motion sensor, which doesn't work from the shower. So you have to shower in the dark or keep getting out to activate the light. My room was identical to a standard room, but with no air con, conditioner, water, hair dryer or clean sheets and towels. I'm absolutely shocked at the experience I had and in trying to get a refund they have argued the amount down and have now stopped replying to me, and don't answer the phone when I ring the number they provided to get the refund.
