Grange Strathmore

This is an interesting hotel in South Kensington about 10 minutes walk from Gloucester Road underground station. The staff are friendly and keen to help. The rooms are well furnished and a reasonable size. There is a public lounge with bar and television. Breakfast is served in an attractive room with most tastes catered for. Reception is a bit casual. The only free water is in the lounge.

The Gem Strathmore hotel has an ideal location for visiting London and a varied, high-quality breakfast. The staff was friendly and the stay was very pleasant. As a point for improvement, the room had a bathtub and getting in and out is somewhat uncomfortable as there are no grab bars, which can be a bit dangerous.

We stayed for five nights whilst visiting London to see friends and do touristy stuff. Firstly, the hotel location is excellent. Very handy for the local metro. Secondly, staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. We are a family of four with young children so we booked a suite. The room was nice and very quiet. Breakfast was decent with a fair variety and a good cooked selection in the buffet. Both the breakfast room and the bar lounge (I liked that the hotel had a bar lounge) were to a high standard. Regarding price - and this is a challenge in central London - I thought the hotel offered excellent value for money. We weren't in London for the hotel but I wanted to enjoy the experience and stay somewhere nice. The Gem Strathmore fulfilled my expectations. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!
