Orchard Hotel

No. Just no. Don’t go to this place.

Booked for 2 nights as location great for train station and as we were seeing two gigs at different parts of London this was pretty central . Granted we were there on the hottest days possible but the lack of air conditioning was awful . The first night we didn’t sleep at all , the air in the room was like stepping off the plane when you travel abroad ! The second night was as bad , asked for a fan as the window only opened around 6 inches and the guy on reception said they didn’t have any , why did I think he was sat there with the door open !!! So two very uncomfortable nights . Weather aside the room took small to a whole new level . Having to open the bathroom door to manoeuver off the toilet as the sink wedged between the loo and your legs ! Breakfast was complimentary but runs for a small window of time so we didn’t get to have it and you have no tea or coffee making facilities in your room . Housekeeping knocked the first morning as you have no way of telling them you do not want to be disturbed and when you refuse service insist they need to do it . The second morning over an hour before the check out time she’s knocking again !!!! I did try desperately to get another hotel for our second night but as Hyde Park summer sessions are on there was simply no availability . I would say spend a little more for the added touches , though over 400 quid for two nights at that standard I feel was sadly excessive

I have recently stayed at The Orchard Hotel in London On my arrival in to the room I found it to be unbearably hot, so I opened the window. After a few minutes of cooling the room, I noticed that the boiler room was less than 3 feet away from the window, this boiler made a very loud noise intermittently and constantly throughout the day and night. Due to this constant noise through out the night, I was unable to sleep at all on both nights that I was there. During the first night, I explained the situation at reception and asked for ear plugs so I could sleep, I was laughed at. Once I did fall asleep, around 05:00, I was woken up by the kitchen banging doors, music playing and general really loud kitchen noises. I was then woken again by house keeping, as there was no sign for me to put on the door to ask them not to come in. At this point, I would like to add that the housekeepers did not knock, and just burst through the door. As I did not sleep at al the first night, I had to cancel plans that I had made for Saturday as I was to exhausted to move. Unfortunately, I had the same experience the following night and morning. More of the same noise, and still unable to sleep because of it. I think the worst part for me regarding the whole ordeal of staying in this hotel was the massive clump of blonde hair I found under the table. Now, as a brunette myself, this was clear that this hair was not from me and very clear that the room has not been cleaned properly. I addressed this with reception again before leaving the ‘hotel’ and I was laughed at, the woman I spoke to quite clearly did not care about the experience I had and was just focused on getting me out of the ‘hotel’ I did try and address these issues on check out, however the person that I spoke to when I checked out was less than helpful. I have tried to contact the 'hotel' and have had nothing in the way of a response
